A visionary designer with over 15 years of experience intricately blending design, art, engineering, material science, and marketing. Originally from Santa Cruz, California, Monica's career unfolds as a dynamic tapestry of ingenuity and creativity.

​

Monica's design philosophy is a storytelling journey through color, materials, and finish, transforming each creation into a cherished heirloom. During her impactful decade at Amazon, she led in material trials, introducing recycled elements to flagship products and significantly contributing to Amazon's Climate Pledge goals.

Over the past four years, Monica embarked on a transformative sustainable journey, actively contributing to sustainable initiatives. From collaborating with natural dyers in Mexico to working with skilled weavers in Guatemala, she played a pivotal role in building Earthships schools in Haiti and participated in constructing hurricane-resistant community centers in Puerto Rico, infusing sustainability into every project.

Monica's expertise extends beyond design.

 

"Sailing across the Pacific was not just a journey; it was a profound connection to the elements, sparking a love for sustainable living on the sea."

 

Holding the RYA Day-skipper certification, she sailed across the Pacific Ocean, fell in love with sailing, and aspires to obtain a skipper's license, showcasing a seamless blend of her passion for the environment and her love for the open sea.

Currently Monica is a One Point Five Degree fellow and Design Consultant. Supporting Brands in Creating Sustainable, Purposeful, and Profitable Products.
